Incognito is the fifth studio album by French singer Amanda Lear, released in March, 1981 by West German label Ariola-Eurodisc. The album contains singles "Nymphomania", "Hollywood Is Just A Dream When You're Seventeen", "Love Amnesia", "Red Tape", "New York" and "Égal". Just like 1978's Sweet Revenge, Incognito is to a certain degree a concept album. This nine track set is loosely based on the Christian classification of vices, the seven deadly sins, with Lear adding two vices of her own: bureaucracy and nostalgia. The track "New York" was originally recorded by composer Francis Lai and included on his 1980 album Paris, New York.

The rights to the Ariola-Eurodisc back catalogue are currently held by Sony BMG Music Entertainment, Incognito was released as a mid-priced compilation CD combined with 1977's I Am a Photograph in Russia in 2001, but remains unreleased on compact disc in the rest of the world.

» Walking incognito behind my dark glasses in a future world not so far away I see the deadly sins.
Fighting to survive (it is the law of the jungle) we meet with envy, violence, greed, fear, indifference and even bureaucracy and nostalgia, this favorite sin of mine which helps to accept the future...«
